Meet Nichole: A Genesee County Mom, Student, Wife

I’m Nichole. A married 32-year-old mother of three. Full-time student. Full-time working mom. A country girl at heart, a city girl by birth. Flower child. Wild about recycling. Chicken mama. Dog mama. Fish mama. Miscarriage survivor.

This Season in Life

I was born in Flint, Michigan and lived there my entire childhood and through the first few years of moving out with my then-boyfriend turned now hubby. We moved to Grand Blanc where we lived for almost a decade. While there, we were very spoiled by having great neighbors and friends of our children that we love! This past November, we moved to Flushing. The city wasn’t anywhere on our list of places to find a home. In fact, our main “must-have” in purchasing a home was land and neighbors that were not close. We bought a home that shares a yard with neighbors on every side and has not even an acre of land. But we lucked out with great neighbors once again and the town is beautiful. We live right by the river. My teenage son spends most of his time fishing and soon kayaking! In this season with kids, it works and we are happy!

Who Am I?

I attend UM-Flint and am working toward my bachelors in Early Childhood Education. I’m about 50% done and I dream of the day! Besides attending college full-time, I also work full-time in a preschool classroom as an assistant teacher. At times, I question my sanity, but once I start something I see it through.

Downtime

With school, kids and work there isn’t much downtime these days. But, I love scrapbooking, crafting, gardening, decorating, swimming, kayaking, camping and being outdoors! I find joy in making my own cleaning products, growing our food and cooking. I’m also into recycling and products that are good for our environment. Sometimes, I think I was born in the wrong era… flower child is probably a term that describes me best.
