Who are these women? They are moms and step-moms; some with one child, some with four. A few of them stay-at-home, some work-at-home, and many work away-from-home. They are attorneys, business owners, nurses, teachers, photographers, lactation consultants, meteorologists, therapists, paralegals and so much more. They are also writers. They have been published online and in print and have had their names and faces grace the likes of Parents Magazine, Her View From Home, Motherly, and Scary Mommy, to name a few. So, who are these women?

 

They are Mid-Michigan Moms.

  • Amanda was born and raised in Virginia and spent most of her 20s moving and traveling around the United States which ultimately landed her in Swartz Creek. Jeff is her spouse and they have two wild little ones, Salvatore and Giada. Amanda dabbles in a mixture of jobs from working for the USPS to a court reporter, to a virtual assistant. Topped with mom duties, Amanda is a walking circus most days. She has a passion for adventure and travel, all things food and wine, dark beer, books, and her peaceful shower time. Amanda is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and has a service dog named Derecho. She cannot wait to share her stories and connect with you.

  • Hi! I'm Cassie Butters and I am an Occupational Therapist, run my own health and wellness business, while juggling all things 'mom.' On various days you can catch me running, crafting with my kiddo, exploring the great outdoors, helping others with their wellness goals, or writing on wellness and mom life. While I don't punch in a "full-time" work schedule; running a business, treating clients, and being a mom keep me well occupied! My husband and I are natives to the Mitten State and we reside in Jackson, Michigan with our fun-loving, 4-year-old daughter and our fur-baby; Lambeau. I'm so excited to be a part of this amazing group and having the opportunity to share motherhood and adventures in Mid-Michigan with all of you!

  • Cassie lives in Sebewaing. She is married to Eric, and they have a very endearing and playful son named Tanner. Cassie and Eric will hopefully be welcoming their second son in April of 2020. Cassie and her family also share their home with their two dogs (Pomeranian and a Pom-mix) Turbo and Cooper. Cassie is extremely involved in Agriculture, not only is she a full-time field consultant (working with Sugarbeets) in the thumb, but Eric and his family also own and operate a dairy farm and cash crop operation. Most of her free time is spent at the farm with their son (He is obsessed), trying new recipes or just cooking in general, reading, and watching the bachelor with her girlfriends. Follow along with Cassie as she writes on her experience of becoming a mother, adding another kiddo, farm life, and plenty of other random things.

  • Hi, I’m Jodie! I live in Williamston with my husband Chris and three girls: Francesca, and twins, Amelia and Annabelle. Since graduating from Central Michigan University (Fire Up, Chips!), I have worked full-time in the world of corporate communications, for 15 years. I also serve on the Galactosemia Foundation board, where I advocate for my two daughters living with the rare metabolic disease. I love Jesus, but I cuss a little and I drink coffee until wine is acceptable. When I can find a minute, I blog about my crazy, blessed life – often the hard stuff, but always with humor (and often a little sarcasm) at JustJoders.blogspot.com.   • Hi, I'm Katie, a teacher by training who is currently loving the SAHM life. I live in Chesaning with my husband, principal of Zion Lutheran School, and our three young kids. My roots are in Milwaukee, but have been a small-town Michigander for the past 6 years and love it! I run a toddler/baby playgroup called Mornings with Mommy in Chesaning - come check us out! My loves include coffee, reading, cooking, writing, my family, and Jesus most of all. Being a mother is a great blessing, and I am grateful to be a contributor with Mid Michigan Moms - can't wait to journey through motherhood with you!

  • Katie is a work-at-home wife and mother who owns her own social media strategy and management company. She grew up in the mitten, but just recently moved back after spending the last 12 years in Florida where she went to college, graduate school, met and married her husband, and then welcomed their two children to the family. Katie enjoys spending time with her family and learning about and applying natural living to their daily lives. She is excited to be back in Michigan, reunited with family and friends, and where she and her loved ones can explore the state while experiencing the beauty of all four seasons.

  • Magann grew up in the Holly, Brandon, and Grand Blanc school areas. Magann was married to her husband Nathan in 2011 and has 3 energetic boys and 1 little girl. After graduating from Utah Valley University and having her oldest son, Magann decided to become a stay at home mom. They moved back to Michigan from Utah 6 years ago. Magann loves to be busy. She is active in her church and church youth program, a PTO board member, as well as being involved in a couple of book clubs and kids playgroups. She enjoys making connections with others and enriching their lives. For fun, Magann loves to be outside with friends and family, photography, traveling, planning events, reading a good book, or doing something crafty/DIY.   • Melissa lives in Dryden Township. She is married to Paul and together they have 3 beautiful girls. Liliana, 7, and the twins, Violet and Izabel, 2.5. Melissa is an IVF mommy. She owns and runs Tender Journey, a line of jewelry and blog inspired by her journey through infertility. Melissa has 2 pretty rambunctious dogs, a small flock of chickens, and a few peacocks. She enjoys spending time with family and checking out local events with her girls.

  • Nikki was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. She met her American husband, Tom, on a beach in San Diego nine years ago, got married in 2013 and moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 2015. They have two children together; An energetic, sweet 3-year-old boy and a sassy, adorable baby girl. Nikki graduated from Journalism at a local college in Canada and went on to earn a BA in Communication Studies & Media. When she’s not working full-time or on mom duty, she enjoys watching reality tv shows, crafting, and indulging in a big glass of wine.

  • This Southern Belle has lived in Mid-Michigan with her husband Matt and dog Vader for a few years. They welcomed their first heavenly and saintly baby girl, Lynn Sofia, in May 2020 and are expecting a boy in August. Rebeca is a degreed bilingual meteorologist and has graduated with her Master's Degree in Applied Sciences from Mississippi State (the other MSU). When she is not blogging, you can probably catch Rebeca at a local BWW, reading a book outside when the weather is nice, or eating finding a local dive across Mid-Michigan.

  • Sarah was born and raised in the Motor City but has called Mid-Michigan home now for over a decade. She worked as a television news reporter covering everything from breaking news, investigative stories, sports, and lifestyle but has stepped back from the industry to be a stay-at-home mom for her two kids. In between swim classes and t-ball practice, Sarah enjoys running and bowling (she is a former state champion). She also has her own blog - you can follow her on Instagram - and owns her own video production business, April Lane Productions.
