Hi all! My name is Emily. I am a Lutheran, wife, mama, crafter, creator, and educator. Genesee County has been the place I have called home for 18 years! I grew up in Grand Blanc and now am blessed to be able to raise my two children in my hometown. My husband, Zac, and I are newlyweds and live in downtown Grand Blanc. We have two amazing kids; my daughter Evelynn (April 2013) and our son Ezra (September 2016).

I spent my college years in Ann Arbor (another city that I love!!) but found my way back to Genesee County for my first teaching job after college. I am a early childhood teacher by trade. However, I have decided to take some time to be at home with my kiddos before they’re in school full time. I still get my teacher fix by volunteering with a preschool group one morning a week and substitute teaching as well. As much as I love being a stay at home mom, I am not ready to let go of my passion for education!
Raising my kids in Grand Blanc means so much to me! This is the town that made me who I am. This is the town where I met my best friends. It’s the town where I found my passion for teaching and education. Where I fell in love with cheerleading and spending Friday nights under the lights cheering on the Bobcats! It’s where I really found my love for Jesus. And the place where I was able to grow and learn so much about who I really am! So many of my most cherished memories happened here. And now, it will hopefully host my children’s most loved memories as well.
Heading out to explore the neighborhood and the shops downtown.
There is so much to be enjoyed within our county lines. The culture, food, fun, nature and adventure that awaits is endless. I cannot wait to share my Genesee County secrets and experiences with all of you!
So cool that you actually grew up in this city that many of us are new to! My husband’s cousins were cheerleaders at the HS (probably just before you), too ๐
