Hi! I’m Jacqui! I am beyond excited to be joining Genesee County Moms Blog on this new adventure! I spent much of the first half of my life in the suburbs of Detroit. About 20 years ago, my family replanted roots in Lapeer County. After attending high school and college within the borders of Lapeer and Genesee Counties, I planted my own roots here.
I met my husband, Eric, while we were on the job. We talked and became friends, dare I say even best of friends, and soon after, started dating. The rest, as they say, is history. We have been happily wed since June 2014.
We welcomed our daughter, JoLynn, into this world in 2015.
4 Days New
In all honestly, I haven’t explored much in the way of family activities and events in + around Genesee County until recently, though I am learning that there really are so many things to do with your spouse/significant other AND family! We cannot wait to get out and keep exploring all that our neighborhoods have to offer and in turn, share them all with you!
Here are just a handful of things we like to do:
Flint/Genesee County
Flint is making a comeback! I am so proud to see all the growth and opportunities coming to our downtown area and county! The Flint Farmer’s Market is open year round and has become one of my favorite spots, along with the Cultural Center that is fast becoming another hotspot!
Lake Nepessing
Located just a few miles outside of Genesee County, Lake Nepessing in Lapeer is an all-sports lake decorated with homes, restaurants, golf courses and camp grounds. We thoroughly enjoy spending weekends in the summer on this beautiful lake taking in the sun, fishing or just relaxing.
Porter’s Orchard
Having grown up in the suburbs of Detroit with access to so many apple orchards and cider mills, it seemed only natural to share this love with my daughter. Porter’s Orchard is among our favorites.
Cider, donuts, apples, hayrides and animals, oh my! And let’s not forget the famous apple cider slushies, the best around town!
I yearn for the surprise and excitement in my daughters eyes as she grows and learns. Days are filled with joy, laughter and happiness, however, we are entering the “terrible two’s” so we have our share of trying moments, too. LOL. I have a passion for learning, growing and being in the kitchen with my husband, which brought on my love of Pampered Chef. Soft spots include, of course my husband, daughter and family, but also Lifetime and Hallmark movies, a good book and the beach!
Motherhood. The most gratifying experience life will offer us.
