It seems like not too long ago, I was holding you in my arms, rocking a precious little baby boy to sleep; and now I can’t help but tear up thinking about my firstborn entering Kindergarten. As this day approaches and you embark on this new adventure, there are some things I want for you to know:
- Don’t be afraid. I know this is something new and the unknown can be scary, but I want you to remember that I won’t ever be too far out of reach. I’m always in your corner.
- Make friends with everyone. There will be a lot of different kids in your class, in your grade, and in your school. Whether it’s boys or girls, say hi and be friendly to all of those around you. You never know whose day you will make just by being a smiling face!
- Respect your teacher. This is going to be someone who is ultimately the key component to your growth and the knowledge you gain. Use your manners & be a gentleman (to everyone).
- Learn a lot! Ask questions & challenge yourself. Offer to help your classmates if they are having a difficult time.
- It’s okay to make mistakes. Don’t try to be perfect, just try your hardest. If you mess up, know that that’s okay; you will learn from it.
- Wash your hands! You know I’m a germophobe. 😉 Remember to wash your hands as much as possible, especially after you use the bathroom!
- Eat your lunch! Whether I pack your lunch or you buy it at school, you need to eat to grow big and strong. I’ll even put a yummy treat in there for you!
- Always remember I love you. I am your biggest fan, I’m always in your corner, and I will help you succeed in any way that I can.
So, my sweet buddy boy, I hope this new journey is fun & exciting for you. I hope you love your teacher, your school, & all the new friends you make. I have absolutely no doubt you are going to be amazing!
