The Robot Zoo Exhibit at Sloan Museum: Fun For the Whole Family

Our first trip to Sloan Museum in Courtland Center to visit The Robot Zoo exhibit was a success for our whole family, ranging from ages 1 to 33! My 5-year-old had the most fun, but my toddlers had such a great time as well.

My honest opinion of The Robot Zoo exhibit? It is one of the coolest exhibits I have been to with my kids. They were all able to push buttons, pull levers, throw balls, and camouflage into a wall!

Being that it was interactive, I did not realize how much my kids were soaking up educationally. When we returned home, my toddlers were naming animals that we saw at The Robot Zoo exhibit and were trying to make movements like them. My 5-year-old told her dad all about hanging like a bat and random facts about a Rhinoceros’ teeth.

What else did we love about our visit to Sloan Museum?

Cars Galore: Surrounding the exhibit and between the exhibit and play area are a ton of antique cars to check out.

Play Area: My girls all loved the climber, the toys, and the super adorable cabin. My toddlers were able to use all toys in the play area. Toys that are safe and fun for younger kids can be a tough thing to find, so this was really exciting for us! There were benches for parents, but let’s be real, practically no one was sitting. The kid chase was on!

Eating: There was a large section back near the play area with tables and chairs to stop for a snack. I saw a sign that indicated they do sell food and refreshments in the gift shop.

Bonus Points:

  • Bathrooms. They had a few family bathrooms in addition to the men’s and women’s. For a mom of multiples, this is something I appreciate a ton!
  • The Gift Shop. My 5-year-old says that everyone needs to know that “they sell a lot of giant, plushy animals and her mom wouldn’t buy any for her.” Aside from her ridiculous complaint about me being frugal, the gift shop had a great selection.

Overall, visiting The Robot Zoo at Sloan Museum was a great time.
The four of us spent almost two hours exploring Sloan Museum before my toddlers got antsy and we called it a day.

We had such a fun time and cannot wait to return!
