Bloom 2019, what an event! One of our passions at Mid-Michigan Moms is to provide opportunities for the women and families within our community to connect with each other. This is one of the main reasons we love planning and providing events like Bloom, our annual event for new and expecting moms! We have loved seeing our Bloom event grow, and were so honored to have the opportunity to gather 100+ Mid-Michigan moms and moms-to-be at this year’s event in honor of motherhood. A huge thank you to our title sponsors McLaren Flint and McLaren Lapeer Region for helping us make this event a reality
We were honored to be able to host Bloom 2019 at the beautiful Hospitality House at McLaren. The Hospitality House at McLaren is designed to complement services provided at McLaren Flint by creating a healing, caring, and comfortable environment for adult and pediatric patients and their caregivers who are traveling long distances for treatment and, to provide comfortable, extended-stay housing at a low cost.
The Hospitality House provides easy access for treatment, support services, and other medical needs. It also provides activities, programs, quiet spaces, and amenities to support healing and hope. Further, by relieving the financial burden associated with housing during this challenging time, the Hospitality House enables patients and their caregivers to focus solely on physical and emotional healing.
If you know someone who is currently undergoing or planning on coming to McLaren Flint for treatment and that may be interested in staying at the Hospitality House, McLaren invites you to call (810) 820-9800 or email the Director of Hospitality Services at teresa.williams@mclaren.org.
We were thrilled to welcome McLaren Health Care as the title sponsor of our 2nd Annual Bloom event! From pre-conception care through pregnancy, birth and beyond, McLaren Flint and McLaren Lapeer Region are dedicated to partnering with you. Their compassionate teams recognize this is a special time and will support you, your baby and your choices. Experienced OB/GYN doctors, nurse practitioners, and certified nurse midwives offer different care team options. When it’s time to deliver, their hospital birth centers provide you with a comfortable environment and honor your birth preferences, from a natural birth experience to vaginal birth after cesarean. Because McLaren knows there are many emotions and new experiences that come along with having a baby, they also have breastfeeding and mental health support for moms.
Our #MidMiMBBloom19 event was packed with moms eager to learn from our experts! From breastfeeding music education, pelvic floor to pre + postpartum mental health, our presenters shared on a variety of topics geared directly to our soon-to-be and new moms. Thank you to our presenters:
Alice Madani, MD {Pediatrics} Melanie Knakal {Kindermusik Educator} Lisa Priestap PT, MSPT {Pelvic Floor Specialist}
Lucetry Dalton, Psy.D. Michelle Keeley, MD {Obstetrician/Gynecologist}
We are passionate about connecting moms to fabulous local resources, great businesses, and products that we personally love. Attendees of our Bloom event were able to meet and mingle with almost 40 businesses and organizations that provide valuable resources for moms and moms-to-be.
Our Bloom Cravings Bar was a hit with attendees. Delicious cupcakes from Carli’s Confections, donut towers from local favorite Donna’s Donuts, vegan and gluten-free tacos plus fresh pressed juices from Jacq n’ Diane’s Juice Box, grain-free muffins from Soozy’s, chips and salsa from Tia Helitas, beverages from Faygo and LaCroix, every pregnant girls dream assorted pickles from McClure’s, and then an assortment of snacks and delicious treats rounded out all of the goodies!
We want to say an additional special thank you to the volunteers behind the scenes – our fabulous Mid-Michigan Moms Blog team! We could not do our events without these 25+ moms, and we are so thankful to have so many of them help leading up to the event and the day of!
