We are thrilled to announce Bloom: An Event For New and Expecting Mothers taking place at the McLaren Hospitality House on Thursday, May 9th, 2019! This popular event is a favorite for Mid-Michigan area mothers, women, and parents. Whether you are considering adoption, becoming a foster parent, an expecting mom or a mom of four – this event is to celebrate you! It is rare that we as moms can get out and about on our own, and Bloom is all about taking an evening off and getting away from the routine for a celebration that’s all about YOU. (This is indeed a kid-free event, with the exception of young nurslings.) Attendees can expect swag, giveaways, food, speakers, and more! At Bloom, you will hear from baby experts in a variety of fields and will be able to ask questions, do some shopping, sample some tasty treats, and mingle.

Lucetry Dalton, Psy.D., is a Behavioral Health Fellow with McLaren’s Family Medicine Program. She was selected as the winner of Oakland County Executive’s Elite 40 Under 40 Class of 2018. With her win, Dr. Dalton became the first woman of color, youngest winner, first person from Pontiac, and the first doctor to win the award. When not working on her Fellowship, she is very active volunteering through McLaren Flint and in her hometown. Upon completion of her Behavioral Health Fellowship, Dr. Dalton is leaning toward working with athletes regarding the psychological aspects of sports competition.
Dr. Alice Madani is a pediatric board-certified physician. Melanie Knakal, has a B.S. in Music Education, a M.S. in Counseling, and has been teaching music in school classrooms and private music studios for nine years. She has taught elementary, middle school, and high school band, high school choir, and private music lessons in piano and voice. Although she enjoys teaching just about anything, her dream job is teaching music to children!
Lisa Priestap will be providing information on pelvic floor physical therapy. Pelvic floor physical therapy focuses on getting your pelvic and core muscles working more effectively. This type of therapy is a highly specialized area and can help with pregnancy-related aches and pains, urinary and bowel incontinence, bladder pain, pelvic pain due to endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, painful intimacy, and constipation. She works to empower those with these concerns by educating them and helping them to feel confident in speaking up when their more personal body parts are not working properly.Keeping with our promise to connect you with some amazing local resources and businesses.
