Bloom! Were you in attendance at our new + expecting mom event at the end of May? We had such an amazing time! Over 100 new and soon-to-be mamas joined us at the lovely Captain’s Club at Woodfield for a night of food, fun, pampering, information, friendship and more!
Bloom is an annual event that we host with our national network, City Moms Blog. Over 55 of our sister sites hosted Bloom across the country this past May. We were so thrilled to bring it to Grand Blanc and Genesee County this year! Along with Exclusive Medical Sponsor Hurley Medical Center, and the Captain’s Club at Woodfield, the Genesee County Moms Blog Team had a blast bringing this event to the area for our local moms, moms-to-be, and women thinking about starting a family!
Hurley Medical Center
We were thrilled to partner with Hurley Medical Center as our Exclusive Medical Sponsor for the event! Hurley is the largest medical center in Genesee County, the region’s only Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and offers the area’s only Level 3 NICU where the region’s tiniest babies are taken care of.
Medical Expert Dr. Sierra Cuthpert, a Hurley OB/GYN, was on site to answer any and all questions! Mid-Michigan Midwifery, Hurley’s full scope midwifery practice that encompasses a full range of primary health care services for women from adolescence through menopause, joined us for the evening as well! Bloom is always a judgment free zone! So many questions and concerns come to mind when preparing to have a baby, throughout the first wonderful {and challenging!} year, and beyond. The Hurley Medical Center team was a perfect match for our Bloom event. Our new and expecting mom guests couldn’t have asked for a more fitting Exclusive Medical Sponsor.

The Food
Floyd’s Restaurant at Captain’s Club provided a great salad + mocktails for our guests! Another local favorite, Krazy Kravings , shared their beautiful sweet treats + a cupcake bouquet giveaway! Biggby Coffee Burton, a GCMB top pick, provided their signature chocolate chip cookies & donut holes for our guest to enjoy as well!
The Flowers
Blumz by JR Designs is a Detroit based Floral and Event company. Co-owners Jerome Raska and Robbin Yelverton opened their first store in Detroit Michigan over 15 years ago and together have over 60 years of combined experience in the industry, with a unique perspective to floral, wedding, event planning and design.
The exciting news?! They’re opening a location in Holly this fall! Blumz created our STUNNING floral arrangements for Bloom, perfect for our audience of new and expecting mamas!

We had a wonderful evening with all of our Bloom guests. Motherhood is such a wonderful and magical journey, but is not without its challenges. That’s where we come into play! Connecting moms with one another and with the best local resources available is at the heart of what we do as Genesee County Moms Blog. The entire GCMB team was thrilled to see our hard work and passion in action at Bloom: our mom guests connected not only with one another, but with our hand-selected + mom-approved businesses and services. Our goal is to help make mom life easier, better, more informed, further enriched and FUN! We definitely achieved that goal together at Bloom!
