Mom Boss: Three Ways I Learned How To Slay Being a Mompreneur

Mompreneur. Mom Boss.

Yes, it’s just like that! Literally one day I rolled out of bed with that annoying feeling of, “this can’t be life!” I knew that after getting married, and starting our family early it would be met head-on with some challenges, and some sacrifices. But what I didn’t know or understand was how I was supposed to live my dreams while doing it all. Being a wife, and Mom is hard work!

What I began to learn was that being a wife and mother does not mean that you have to throw all your dreams away!  But in fact, having a husband, and children has inspired me even more to get moving on making my dreams a reality.  I mean, who is going to pay for all these kids to go to college? When I decided to go full-time as a Mom Boss,  there were three things that I learned to help me slay as a Momprenuer that I want to share with you.

Mompreneur

#1 Write down YOUR vision–  I found it imperative to take the time to sit,  and write about all the vivid dreams, plans, and ideas that I had. Vision is seeing what you want to accomplish. These things can be so vivid in our minds. When you write down the vision you have for your life, and possible business ventures, or projects  it gives you the opportunity to be more strategic in your approach to what you see.

When you approach your dreams with strategy, I learned it can set you up for success. Let’s be real: as moms there are a thousand things going on in our heads that we have to sift through. Dinner ideas, play dates, doctor appointments.  If you care about finding fulfillment in life, care about your dreams mama! They matter!

#2-You need Balance-  Yes I know that there are just not enough hours in a day!  I found out that I could not pour from an empty cup. I needed balance, which meant I needed to prioritize my time. My dreams were important enough to make it on the schedule! From what’s for dinner, to doctors appointments.  I learned that in order for me to make this Momprenuer thing work I would have to set up a daily schedule devoted to my online business, and me taking care of my mommy duties. One hard lesson I learned was that it was OK if my house wasn’t spotless all the time. What mattered most was that my husband and children were happy, healthy, and wearing clean socks LOL. Stop feeling guilty for what works for your family! Know when you need some ME TIME or shall I call it DREAM TIME! LOL!!

#3-Believe in Yourself: You Totally Got This!- Say it until you believe it! You totally got this! I recite this to myself everyday. In my head, and out loud. There have been plenty days that I felt it was too hard. You will feel this way too. I would think about all the times I would stop and start something, and decided this time I was for real.

When I started believing in myself, I saw my business and brand take off! Believing in yourself gives you clear vision, and allows others to believe in what you’re doing, too. Believing in yourself is all about trusting yourself and the gifts you have on the inside of you. When you trust yourself, you free up ideas, solutions, and struggles for your self as a Momprenuer.

If it’s your dream, I want you to slay being a Momprenuer!
I truly believe that this is the time more than ever to go for it! Until next time.
