Hi mamas, I’m Katie Lin! I am the proud mama of a wild and adorable little boy who goes by the name of Brigham, two high maintenance pups – Allie Rae and Cabo – and a cool little goldfish named Tiny – my easy child. My co-captain/husband’s name is Matt, and we live in Fenton.
I was born and raised in Michigan and always thought I wanted to leave for good, but family, the seasons, and the lakes keep me here. I live for summer days on the lake with family/friends and weekends up north exploring the outdoors, wineries/breweries, and cute little northern MI cities.
My husband and I met during our college years at Michigan State University, so GREEN is naturally a staple in our home. We were friends first, and that has been the foundation and strength throughout our relationship and marriage. We love MSU football and hope to take our son to his first game this fall. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology and a Master of Public Health degree from MSU, so I guess I’m a bit of a closet nerd.
Since becoming a mom, I work part-time from home for Beaumont Health doing a variety of epidemiology work. My husband is a successful real estate professional. When I’m not working during the week, I enjoy going on adventures with my son and dogs. On the weekends, you can find us enjoying family time, getting together with friends and being active.
My first passions in life were animals and writing. I have raised many animals including raccoons, rabbits, squirrels and even a cute little opossum named Pooh. I am happy to say that animals and writing are very much a part of my life again. I volunteer at a local animal sanctuary and hope to get more involved as life allows. I started a blog last year called Mama Brash and have enjoyed sharing some of my motherhood experiences. It’s a wonderful creative outlet for me.
My newest passion is motherhood, and it is hands down my favorite! My son is my world, and I love being his mama more than I could have ever imagined. With that said, I am so excited to join the amazing mamas that make up the Mid-Michigan Moms team. I am even more excited to start sharing some of my experiences as I continue on the biggest adventure of my life!
