It’s hard to believe that two years Courtney & Elizabeth launched this little expansion blog aiming to bring the amazing resources and events like that of Detroit Moms Blog to parents located in Genesee County, crossing their fingers and working their hardest to make it a success… well here it is two years later with the name of Mid-Michigan Moms Blog and four site owners!
Courtney and Elizabeth had a vision back in 2016… a vision to bring moms together during this journey of motherhood. Whether it’s online or off, it was their goal at Genesee County Moms Blog to make moms feel a little less isolated, band together, to share the successes and struggles, and create a strong community of moms in + around Genesee County.
After about 8-10 months of never-ending effort, Genesee County’s first Bloom, and stories from an amazing group of contributors they realized they needed to expand and rebrand thus creating Mid-Michigan Moms Blog! They recruited GCMB Contributor Stephanie into the mix and just a few months later the three of them launched #MidMiMB, a resource for moms in + around North Oakland County, Genesee, Shiawassee, Lapeer, Saginaw, Midland, North Livingston, Bay, West Tuscola, and Washtenaw Counties. It takes a lot of hard work to cover an area of this magnitude, as well as to provide all the information and resources local moms need but they were willing to put in the time, and somehow managed to land an amazing group of even more contributors from all over the region!
Within the past month, MidMiMB has welcome a few more amazing local contributors to expand the already powerful team, their dedicated Community Engagement Coordinator, Jacqui, has launched two more Community + Conversation groups in addition to the main locally-focused group, and the Operations Director {and resident technical guru) Lyndsey became the fourth site owner!
Like most new sites, we’ve been through ups and downs, triumphs and failures, wins and losses… we are real moms… we are real friends… with our amazing team, and you our community, we are Mid-Michigan Moms Blog.
We celebrate with all of you today. Without YOU we’d just be a group of local mommas blogging about our motherhood journey who get together at random times throughout the year for celebrations and events, but because of YOU, we are bigger than that, we are team who has brought thousands upon thousands of moms together to create a deeper sense of community in + around Mid-Michigan.
We’ve come A LONG way since December 12, 2016… and have a lot of amazing things planned for 2019 including Galentine’s Night Out, Bloom :: A Event for New & Expecting Moms, Easter Eggstravaganza, a TON of Mom’s Meetups & Playdates through our C+C groups, plus a bunch of amazing real, local, stories from our contributor team!
