Hey Mid-Michigan! I am Erin and I was born and raised in Auburn {not Auburn Hills!}. I currently live in Bay City but I’m less than a mile from Auburn and still consider myself a huge part of Auburn.
I have been married for 11 years. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner and I don’t know how to say no! My day job is working at a local university as a staff member. I’ve obtained my Masters of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications.

Creative at Heart
I’m big on DIYing. Before kids, we gutted a 100-year-old farmhouse and redid it 90% ourselves. I’m not sure I would want to do that again but it was an amazing experience to feel like you have built your home by hand. I’ve always had a love for crafts and scrapbooking even though my time for them is limited these days. I originally went to college for photography but decided weddings were not my thing. After having kids I realized more and more my need to be back in the business of photography and I fell in love with Personal Branding. I want to help more entrepreneurs express themselves to promote their businesses. Lady Behind the Lens is my business and we focus on branding and families.
Community-Based
I have spent the last 7 years as a member of the Auburn Jaycees. We are a young person’s leadership organization. We can provide community events while learning new skills ourselves. I started two different 5ks, beautiful baby contests, and many more events. Being highly introverted, this organization allowed me to step out of my shell and try out new ideas. I highly recommend everyone find some opportunity to give back in their community because your skills will soar!
Becoming Mom
Married at 22, my husband and I were living life and pursuing higher education. At almost nine years, we started our family. My journey to mom has been an interesting one. We had two miscarriages to start before having Mr. Finnley. He is three now and Mr. Tiny Teenager with a car problem {like father like son!}. Three months after Finn, surprise Mr. Hudson was on his way! The boys are 1 year and 12 days apart. Going from an only child myself to being a mom of two lively little boys has been an adjustment, to say the least.
I had NO IDEA how I was going to be a boy mom. What would I do with them? It is beyond the best blessing ever for me. I love my boy’s hugs and how much they love their mama.
Future Journey
I am spending a lot of time focusing on accelerating my business. It is my outlet in life and my self-care activity. We were blessed to purchase a cabin on the lake before Mr. Finnley came along and we spend every possible weekend there in the summer. Part of our journey is seeing our boys grow up at the lake.
I can’t wait to spend some time with all of you Mid-Michigan Moms!! I look forward to sharing my entrepreneur journey as a mom with y’all!
