Hello, I’m Ashleigh! I’m a working mom residing in Genesee County. My clan includes my hunky Sicilian husband, my sunshine and first-born otherwise known as Rosaleigh or {Roszilla for short}, and our energetic and snugly puppy, Gracie Pie.
I was born in the charming town of Victoria, British Columbia Canada. However, I was raised in Michigan, Florida, and Nevada: Vegas Baby! My mother was a traveling nurse which led us on many exciting and life-changing adventures. While living in Las Vegas I was able to hone in on my photography skills, rock climb/repel, and perfect my extreme pog playing skills. Please tell me I’m not the only one who remembers playing with pogs?!

In Florida, I was able to get up close and personal with alligators and snakes that lived near our home, visit Disney on a Wednesday because, well, it was only 15 minutes away, and experience Christmas-themed palm trees.
Despite traveling across the United States by the time I was in the 5th grade, my heart always longed to be back in Michigan. Michigan is beyond my favorite place to be and where my soul belongs.
Don’t get me wrong, I wish Michigan had a few more mountains and waterfalls close by. But it’s also comforting to know that they can be easily reached by simply driving north. I work in Flint, Michigan as a Case Manager at a non-profit agency. I can’t mention enough how much I enjoy helping people. The mounds of paperwork that goes along with the job, not so much, but helping people feeds my soul and gives me purpose. I am also a huge advocate for Flint. I love the city of Flint, I love its people, the food, the community feel, the buildings, and its heritage.
My passions are many and often time I feel like my goals and my brain are on overload trying to fit in all of my to-dos and “to-wants”.
- I adore animals and have recently started helping Concept Hope, a non-profit organization in Flint, by bagging straw for outdoor animals in the winter.
- I’m passionate about being crafty and enjoy refinishing furniture and decorating our 1850’s historic home.
- I enjoy getting busy in the kitchen by trying new recipes from my favorite mom blogs on Instagram and Pinterest.
- I am also a huge supporter of self-care and mental wellness.
I have endured and most recently embraced anxiety for the majority of my teenage and adult life. Shortly after I had our daughter I was diagnosed with postpartum anxiety and depression. I was able to navigate my way through this difficult time with the help of my family and my community. Talking with other moms, finding my new normalcy, and having family watch my little wonder while I practiced self-care were extremely helpful.
I’m excited to join the #MidMiMB team and share my stories of motherhood and life with you!
