Hey mamas, I’m Becky {Bekz as those closest call me}. I was born and raised in Owosso and found my way back to mid-Michigan in 2011 after spending ten years living in beautiful Pittsburgh. I loved everything about the big city {other than the traffic}! They say you can take the girl out of Pittsburgh, but you can never take Pittsburgh out of the girl…and it’s so true!!
When I moved to Pittsburgh I was a young, single mama of an 11-month-old son. I worked full-time, while putting myself through college full-time, and raising my son 350 miles from the closest family. By the time I came back to Michigan, I had found myself: my passions, my voice, and my love for all things black and gold. While I’m a Mid-Michigan native, Pittsburgh will always have a special place in my heart.
Now, I live in Grand Blanc as the only girl in a house full of boys. My fiancé and I are best friends from high school. After high school, life took us in different directions. But five years ago fate brought us back together again. We’re currently planning our July 2020 wedding, in the midst of a crazy busy life with two young boys {3.5 and 1.5}and my oldest who is 19 {wow, that makes me feel old just saying that}.
I keep myself busy being a stay-at-home mama and spend my days “keeping babies alive” as we say. Our motto is “not exactly the way we planned it,” and, well, that’s a pretty typical day in the life here.
When I’m not busy “momming”, I love helping families learn the science of sleep. I run my own business, The Sleep Priority, as a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant and am very passionate about getting littles to learn how to sleep independently.
As if all that doesn’t keep me on the go enough, I’m also the treasurer of our local Woman’s Life chapter and co-admin a local mama’s walking group {although we’re so much more than a walking group}. I love coffee, wine, reading a good book, and spending time at our family lakehouse. I am an extroverted introvert, and love being a boy mom {most days}. As an introvert, I’d prefer all of those things in solitude; HA {as if}!
