Summer vacation is in full swing. Are you kids bored yet? I’ve decided to take out some of the stress of finding activities for you and your kids during the remainder of the summer and list it all here! Everything from activities for littles to fun days for the big kids and no cost to reasonably priced; check out some of the things going on around your area!
Outside Activities

1. Dow Gardens – Midland
Do you have littles that enjoy story time outside with an activity after? Older kids who love heights and being out in nature? Dow Gardens is just the place! With a calendar full of events, your kids are sure to have a blast this summer being outdoors. The best part? Most activities are included in your annual membership or day pass! How awesome is that? 2. Tittabawasee Township Park – Freeland
Need 2 hours to get some things done or just to let the kids have some fun? Check out Tittabawasee Township Park for free activities every Wednesday from 10am – 12pm beginning June 20th and ending August 15th with an End of Summer Bash! 3. The Princess Wenonah and Islander Boat Tours – Bay City
Take a fun and informational trip down the Saginaw River on the Princess Wenonah or Islander. Some days are even free! Check out which ones are here on their website.
4. Williams Township Summer Recreation Program – Auburn
Everything from craft days to day trips, Williams Township Summer Recreation Program has so much to do! Their list of activities will be posted soon and most are cost-free and available for a wide range of ages. Keep posted by checking out their Facebook Page.
5. Lecronier’s Baby Acres – Freeland
Who doesn’t LOVE baby farm animals! Everything from educational trips and tours to a petting area, this farm is the perfect place for little animal lovers of all ages. Cost is low and the season goes beyond summer as well! Check out all of the happenings at this cute farm on their website.

6. The Bay City State Park – Bay City
Need a place to cool off and let the kids run? Craving camping but, want the sweet treat of an old-school diner within walking distance? Enjoy movies and concerts under the stars? Well, the Bay City State Recreation Area is the PERFECT place for you and your kids! Everything from Spray by the Bay to Mussel Beach Diner for some tasty ice cream – this place has it all. There are also special days when Spray by the Bay includes a free lunch for kids under a certain age! Check out the DNR website here to contact the State Park directly for more information!
Indoor Activities
1. Local Libraries
Got a book worm in your family or need something on a rainy day? Check out your local libraries for Summer Reading Programs for all ages (yes mom and dad, that includes you too), craft days, special guests, teen activities and so much more! You can also check with your local library for what is called a Michigan Activity Pass for free or discounted passes to state-wide places like state parks, museums and more.

2. Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum – Saginaw
Ready for learning and adventure? With several stations for all ages, this place is a wonderful day spent inside, and outside when the weather cooperates! More information is located here on their website regarding times and ticket entry fee.
3. Washington Lanes – Bay City
Bowling, air conditioning and snacks; the perfect day in when it’s too hot or rainy outside. Check out Washington Lanes in Bay City for more information on free bowling days for the kids!
Movies
Have some time on your hands for some free or low-cost movies? Check out these local places below for movies under the stars or on a Saturday morning!
Bay City 10 GDX – $1 Saturday morning movies
Wenonah Park (Bay City) – Free movies beginning at dusk hosted by the State Theater.
Movies Under the Moonlight (Auburn) – Grab a lawn chair or a blanket and head out to Tri-City Furniture’s parking lot in Auburn for free movies beginning at dusk.
