As parents, the hustle and bustle of the holiday season – while joyous – can also be very overwhelming. Our to-do list items seem to mount, and there never apprears to be enough time to accomplish all that we’d like. Who can relate?!
I certainly can. I’ve been guilty of letting the stress of the season creep in more times than I care to count. But through the years I’ve learned to take a break. I’ve made the conscious decision to put everything {yes, everything} on hold for a few hours and truly take the time to enjoy the wonder of the season with my three children. Guess what? You can do it, too, mama!
Put your present-wrapping on hold, and experience Santa’s Flight Academy at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets. It’s been a tradition in our home since Santa and his sleigh first landed at Michigan’s Largest Indoor Outlet Mall in 2016. At Santa’s Flight Academy, your children become part of Santa’s crew!

Each child creates a personalized cadet badge and is outfitted in a virtual flight suit. The badge gives children personal access to various parts of Santa’s sleigh. My kids love to check the weather and help figure out Santa’s flight plan. Each cadet has the opportunity to virtually load and operate Santa’s sleigh, ensuring that all the presents are on board. The excitement, wonder, and joy of this experience are irresistible!

The visit is capped off with a magical snowfall, and a visit with the Big Man himself! My children love that Santa calls them each by name, and takes the time to go over their Christmas lists. At Santa’s Flight Academy, your time with Santa is one-on-one, in a roped off area, giving children the chance to feel comfortable and really talk with Santa.

Santa was well-versed in everything from LOL Surprise Dolls to fishing nets this year! He covered all of the bases with my kids, much to their delight! His personalized attention to each child offers such a special touch to the occasion.

Our family’s tradition is to visit Santa at 5 p.m. on a weeknight. We usually bring grandma and grandpa, too. While we’ve never waited in a line, traffic may vary depending on the time of day that you pay a visit. Santa’s Express Lane is always available. Visit the Great Lakes Crossing Outlets website for more details, and hours!
Seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child is truly magical. Santa’s Flight Academy at Great Lakes Crossing offers just that! Our family looks forward to it each year. We cap off the evening with dinner at one of Great Lakes Crossing’s family-friendly restaurants, and always visit the play area. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the wonder of the season with one another!
So go for it, mama! Press pause for an hour, an afternoon, or even a day. Take the time to enjoy the magic of the season with your little ones. I promise, your to-do list isn’t going anywhere, and the memories that you make at Santa’s Flight Academy will be cherished for a lifetime.
