Berry Picking In and Around Genesee County

The berries have landed!

Something that I was never exposed to, growing up in the oppressive heat of Texas, was berry picking. Maybe it’s a thing now, but when I was little it was never on my radar. In fact, I used to pretend to pick berries like a Disney princess. (Didn’t they always have a picture-perfect basket full of ripe berries?)

Well, in southeast Michigan, it’s a reality! And while you may have to contend with dirt, thorns, and/or a sore back, you can pack up your kiddos and head out for a day of vitamin D and picking some delicious berries!

It’s usually best to call before you head out, as farms may close due to weather or to being picked out. You don’t want to arrive just to be turned away!
