Meet Sarah: A TV Reporter Turned Stay-At-Home Mom

Hi everyone! I’m Sarah. I am a lifelong Michigander, having been born and raised in Detroit. However, I have called Mid-Michigan home for almost a decade now, having moved here originally for work.

Back in my “reporter days” covering news around mid-Michigan.

I worked in the broadcast field for over 13 years covering everything from news, investigative stories, sports, and lifestyle. I have spent time both in front of and behind the camera as a reporter, anchor, and producer. Let me tell you both aspects have their ups and downs. You have good days and you have bad ones. You cover stories that move you to tears and have you laughing hysterically. It can be so much fun and full of stress all at once.

I worked in the broadcast field for over 13 years covering everything from news, investigative stories, sports, and lifestyle. It was what I wanted to do since I was 8-years-old and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. That is, until recently.

Along the way to my dream job, I fell in love. I went to college and while there earned my BA, MS, MA, & my MRS degree. I wasn’t expecting it but that’s when great things happen. My husband and I met on the first day of college and have been together ever since. We are a team and over the years our team has expanded.

First was the addition of our tortoise. Next came our puppy{if you really want to test your marriage, come home a month after your wedding with a dog and see what happens!}

After yearning for a child, we were blessed with a son. He is named after his grandfathers, looks like his dad, but acts like his momma. He’s a great combination of both of us and we love him so much.

After three years we were blessed with our daughter. She is our sweet wild child. We like to call her opinionated because even at just a year old she knows what she wants.

As any working mom knows, juggling a full-time career and a family is difficult. My 11 hour days {by the time you figured in my commute} were leaving me little time at home with my family.

One of my last days as a “working mom”.

Now, I’m a stay-at-home mom, cherishing every moment with my little ones.

In between swim classes and t-ball practice, I like to bowl {I’m a former State Champion} and I am training for my first half-marathon. I also have my own blog which you can check out at TVMommy.com.

I look forward to connecting with you, here, at Mid-Michigan Moms!
