My name is Melissa and I am a stay at home mom in Dryden. I’m married to a wonderful man named Paul. We have three beautiful daughters. Liliana is 4, and Violet and Izabel are 3 month old twins. All of our girls are IVF babies.
After we had our daughter, Liliana through IVF, we begin a company called Tender Journey. I design pendants to represent different aspects of the journey toward parenthood and my husband, who is a jeweler, creates them.
My husband and I will be celebrating 10 years of marriage this year. Pretty exciting! My guess is that we will head out to celebrate at our favorite local bar/restaurant, Mikey’s in Almont. We can always count on a the best burger, and overflowing plates of fries.
In January our twins were born. On their second day the doctors discovered that Izabel had a heart condition. She was rushed off to Children’s Hospital in Detroit. At this point she’s home and doing wonderful, but a lot of our time now is spent traveling back and forth to doctors visits.
Back in October while I was pregnant, my husband was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He completed a round of chemo and surgery before our girls were born. Needless to say, our lives have become a little more hectic and we have become a lot more grateful for every day that we are given together.
Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I was a social worker. I worked at LACADA, the domestic violence shelter in Lapeer. While I enjoy staying home, I miss my days working at the shelter and meeting a lot of amazing women and their children.
I am still adjusting, but loving life as a new twin mom and seeing my preschooler as a big sister.
I look forward to sharing more with you all!
