Meet Lyndsey, an Imlay City Mom!

Writing….I love it. The whole shebang. Researching, writing, reading, and learning. It’s thrilling. Writing about kids, yes! Writing about my families’ rural adventures, yes. Writing about myself, errrrg. What to say? Well here goes…

I’m Lyndsey. I’m 30ish. I’m married to my husband Dave and we have two kids, a dog, a cat, and a fish that we ‘won’ at a family holiday white elephant gift exchange. We live in the country, we eat dessert, and we love our life!

Life Before Me as Mom: The Good Life
I was born in Omaha, NE and spent my first 22 years in the heartland. My younger self saw Nebraska as flat, too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter, and boooring. I knew I wanted to do something meaningful in life and away from home, far, far away. So, I decided to pursue a career in nursing. School was tough but worth it. Between clinicals, tests, and margaritas, I met my future husband Dave. I gave my all to my career. I left every day feeling drained but rewarded. I saw lives begin and lives end. Nursing taught me to give my all each and every day because tomorrow is no promise. After unforgettable adventures in California and Texas, we moved to my husband’s home state of Michigan a few years ago.

Life as Mom: The Best Life
Since moving to Michigan, I have transitioned into my role as a stay-at-home-mom. Staying home is chaotic, but absolutely what I was meant to do. I’m mom, mommy, momma, maaaama, and MAMAAAA to David, 3, and Lucy, 1. David is organized, thoughtful, compassionate, and articulate. He follows the rules, is cautious, and serious. Lucy is not. I have joked since bringing Lucy home that I feel as though my husband and I are in a fostering program with the zoo and that Lucy is actually a mild-tempered lemur. We have been tasked with raising said creature without breaking her spirit. She is challenging, but oh so fun. I truly enjoy the many differences between my children, it keeps life exciting.

Life as Me
Outside of mothering, wifeing, and homemakering, I enjoy traveling, crafting, cooking, planning, exploring, and reading. My time is, however, made up mostly of keeping my monkeys clean, safe, and entertained. Never could have I imagined life as it is, but now that I am here, I wouldn’t change a thing.

I am so anxious to begin a new chapter as a contributor to Genesee County Moms Blog! I can’t wait to see what adventures lay ahead and to share them all with you!

Hey! I'm Lyndsey one of the co-owners of Mid-Michigan Moms. I was born and raised in Omaha, NE and in my life before becoming a work/homeschool/stay-at-home mom was a critical care nurse and nurse educator. After unforgettable adventures in California and Texas, our family moved to my husband’s home state of Michigan. My husband, three kids, and a naughty yellow lab are now loving our chaotic, rural living-life. I love traveling, balancing no less than 12 DIY projects at once, chocolate, cooking, daiquiris, and a sunny day in the 70s at the lake.
