Digging Deep Into Your Health + Wellness with Thrive! and Nutrition Response Testing

Your body is your guide through any health and wellness journey. It will tell you when something’s not right and it will tell you when everything is working properly. How so? Well, when your blood sugar is high your body might tell you this through increased lethargy or a headache. When it’s nourished properly it will show you by energizing you, helping you sleep well, and increasing your immune system response. If you’re interested in digging deep into your health and wellness we recommend Nutrition Response Testing with our partners at Thrive! Wellness Center in Saline.

Last summer my body felt “puffy.” I was tired, experiencing headaches, struggling with anxiety, and every day around 2 PM I reached for a caffeine boost to carry me through the rest of the day. Most days my diet consisted of nutrient-dense food and I allowed myself a treat here and there. But, I knew something was off. So, thanks to a recommendation from a friend, I reached out to Thrive! and Dr. Shannon Roznay.

Nutrition Response Testing is a non-invasive system of analyzing the body to determine the underlying causes of ill or non-optimum health. It uses neurological reflexes to tell us what and how our nervous system is doing as it is the nervous system’s responsibility to regulate the body’s functions for each and every organ.

During my appointment with Dr. Shannon, I completed a new patient orientation, wellness and physical fitness testing, and at the end of my appointment experienced Nutrition Response Testing for the first time. During the testing, I lied on my back extending my right arm. Dr. Shannon completed a full-body scan on my reflexes by contacting my right arm with her hand and contacting a variety of reflex areas with her other hand. When one of my reflexes was stressed my arm would weaken as my nervous system responded. When that happened it meant that there is an underlying issue that could be related to the ill-health symptoms I was experiencing. Nutrition Response Testing was simple and pain-free. I’m a total nerd when it comes to all things nutrition related so I left Dr. Shannon’s office with a big smile on my face. It was very cool!

At my follow up appointment, Dr. Shannon shared her findings with me and made recommendations to improve my overall health and wellness. At this appointment, I found out that my thyroid and adrenals were weak and were not optimally functioning. I also found out that I had a sensitivity to foods containing dairy. Dr. Shannon provided a “Personal Designed Clinical Nutritional Program” as well as nutritional supplement recommendations to help improve my symptoms.

Nutrition Response Testing can help find the underlying cause of a variety of ill-health symptoms. Examples of such ill-health symptoms include, but are definitely not limited to fatigue, anxiety, depression, low libido, muscle pain, headaches, migraines, infertility, and behavioral symptoms related to ADHD.

With help from Dr. Shannon and the team at Thrive! Wellness Center I’ve been working diligently to heal my thyroid, adrenals, and have removed dairy from my diet. My health and wellness have improved significantly as I’ve noticed increased energy, minimal headaches, weight loss, a gradual improvement in my anxiety, and no more of that “puffy” feeling thanks to Nutrition Response Testing with Dr. Shannon.
