Mid-Michigan Moms Blog Community + Conversation!

Hi Mamas, more exciting updates coming from Mid-Michigan Moms Blog!

You know as well as we do that being a mom is hard work.  It can be isolating, overwhelming and completely exhausting.  In our endless quest to provide crustless sandwiches, princess tea parties, coordinated outfits, perfectly executed activity drop-off/pick-ups (not to mention avoiding stepping on that stray Lego), moms can get lost in the shuffle. We all know that being a Mom is the most rewarding job we can do, but it’s also the hardest. And we’ve all heard it takes a village…

What if that village was a group of moms in our communites that could come together and connect?  What if that meant caring for one another in times of need, or getting together to celebrate? Perhaps, there is a new mom on your street who needs to know about the best place to get coffee. Or maybe you just need advice from the mom who’s been there and can offer you a shoulder (or a helping hand) as you navigate your latest parenting challenge.

We’d love to introduce you to our Mid-Michigan Community + Conversation groups.

Mid-Michigan Moms Blog Community and Conversation

Our number one goal in creating Mid-Michigan Moms Blog {MidMiMB} was to create a community online and offline through our content as well as our in-person events.  Moms need moms to support and encourage one another in this epic journey we are all on together.

Our three Mid-Michigan Community + Conversation groups are a place to connect–to truly connect–with the moms around you.  Our hope is to create a safe place for moms from all walks of life to share stories and receive encouragement.

We’ve have one group dedicated to all moms living in + around Mid-Michigan, and two additional groups geared towards Working Moms and Stay at Home Moms in hopes that it will foster deeper connections and support, however you are more than welcome to join all Mid-Mi groups as sometimes the best connection and support comes from a different perspective.

Community + Conversation is managed by Mid-Michigan Moms Blog.  We are currently looking for Mid-Michigan Contributors who can help serve as Mombassadors for our groups to organize monthly playdates, get-togethers, and Mom’s Night Outs.

Think you’d make a great Contributor and in-turn a Mid-Michigan Mombassador?  Click here! Any questions? Contact Jacqui, our Community Engagement Coordinator (info@midmichiganmomsblog.com).

The basic rules for our Community + Conversation Groups are:

1. Be kind. We do not ask or expect everyone to agree all the time. Motherhood is the easiest thing to have an opinion about but the hardest thing to actually do. There will, however, be no toleration of any inflammatory, derogatory, or bullying talk. We want this to be a safe place for moms to share their stories, including struggles.

2. No personal promoting. We love seeing moms find their passions. Really we do, but this is not the place for personal advertisements. If you would like to advertise with MidMiMB or be featured in one of our monthly guides, please contact us at info@midmichiganmomsblog.com.

3. No buy/sell/trade. There are loads of b/s/t groups on Facebook.  This group is not the place for selling furniture or baby clothes. Rather Community + Conversation is a place to meet other moms and grow friendships.

4. Be safe. Keep safety in mind, and please consider meeting at a public place when meeting someone new for the first time.

It is simple to join! There are no fees, no memberships, and no minimum attendance or participation requirements. When you visit the Mid-Michigan Community + Conversation group page you simply select the group(s) you wish you join and click ‘+Join Group’.  There will be 3 questions for you to answer. They are designed to ensure that we keep these groups to local Mid-Michigan mommas. We do collect email addresses so you can keep up with the latest and greatest going on at MidMiMB {and hear all about those events that you will have early ticket access to!}. However, should you like, you may unsubscribe at any time — but we so hope you don’t! Easy peasy.

Now get ready for a lot of fun! We will have a main thread posted so you can introduce yourself and find out who all is in your area or stage of life. We hope this will be an opportunity for you and your kids to make some new friends and connections in Mid-Michigan.  And of course be sure to tell your friends, neighbors, co-workers to join in the fun with you. Life is better together, am I right?!

In order to stay up-to-date on ALL the connection opportunities Mid-Michigan Moms Blog offers, make sure to subscribe to receive our blog posts by email, “like” our Facebook page, and follow us on Instagram (@midmichiganmomsblog),  Twitter (@midmichiganmoms), and Pinterest!

Hi! I'm Stephanie co-found and co-owner of Mid-Michigan Moms. I'm a working mom of three wild babes and one naughty dog. I love everything about living in Michigan - that means lakes in the summer and snow in the winter. When I'm not spending time outdoors with my family (or working) I enjoy hosting, Michigan State football + basketball, true crime TV + pop culture documentaries, trips to Target, shopping the N Sale, and filling up my calendar with adventures! I honored to be a part of this amazing community here at Mid-Michigan Moms, and am so excited to share and learn along with you in this journey called motherhood!
